a surprise away win against league leaders Colo-Colo.
3 weeks ago Colo-Colo had a 7 point lead over their nearest rivals and looked almost certain to win their 30th league championship. On Saturday they let the last 3 points of their lead disappear after losing 0-1 at home against 4th bottom side Santiago Morning.

Despite a 1-1 draw against Barcelona Sporting Club, leaders LDU Quito extended their lead at the top to 5 points with a game in hand after their nearest rivals Deportivo Cuenca lost 0-2 at home to 2nd bottom side Macará, the away team's 2nd goal was a rather special effort from his own half by Luis Caicedo. Emelec are now only one point behind them in 3rd after a 1-2 away win against Manta.

Uruguay
The Montevideo derby between Nacional and Peñarol failed to live up to expectations, ending in a 0-0 draw. Defensor Sporting Club are on 24 points and still 2 points clear at the top ahead of four other teams, after a 1-1 draw with Central Español.

The chasing pack on 22 points is made up of Danubio, Peñarol, Bella Vista and El Tanque Sisley.

Danubio won their 3rd consecutive game with a 2-0 win against Racing Club, Bella Vista are also on a 3 game winning streak after beating Miramar Misiones 3-2 and the dream is still alive for newly promoted El Tanque Sisley who won 1-2 away from home against River Plate.

Inti Gas recovered from a 1-3 home defeat to Sporting Cristal to hammer José Galvez 6-0 on Saturday.

León de Huancayo and Juan Aurich seem to be pulling away at the top of group B. León won 3-1 against Alianza Atlético with two nice goals from Gustavo Rodas and Aurich beat Melgar 2-0.
